Call for Local Organisers
At Teens In AI we’re already working towards our annual International Women’s Day Hackathon, this year taking place 3rd-12th February 2023. This campaign is running for the 6th year and is supported by some of the biggest companies in the world.
Our aim is to reduce the gender gap in the technology industry by exposing teenagers between the ages of 12 and 18 to the exciting world of tech and AI.
This year, we are looking for teachers to organise a 2.5 day STEM event/hackathon in your classes, with our guidance. The agenda and all learning materials will be provided. No prior coding skills are required.
WHAT YOUR STUDENTS WILL LEARN:
* Design Thinking and how to shape a problem
* Fundamentals of machine learning
* AI Ethics: build your technology responsibly
* Pithing skills: pitch your project to industry experts
Students will work in teams, aided by mentors from across the tech industry and compete with students from other parts of the world.
In the last 6 years of running this program many students have found it helped them become more confident at computer science, they understand better how computer science applies to real world problems and many have said it helped them get into their first choice universities.
